When creating an IPAWs (Integrated Public Alert and Warning System) alert there is an option to add an EAS (Emergency Alert System) message in Spanish. The English message will be sent to Spanish EAS endpoints and devices set as Spanish if no Spanish message is created.
Important Notes
- EAS: Will be broadcast to Spanish stations
- WEA (Wireless Emergency Alerts): Will be sent to phones that have the default language on the device set to Spanish
Spanish Fields
- Event Headline: Summary of the Event or the name of your message. Required for Non-Weather Emergency Messages (NWEM), and optional for EAS.
- Event Description (Required): The specifics of the event or situation. Text is included in the EAS screen crawl.
- Recommended Instructions (optional): Instructions the message recipients should follow. Text is included in the EAS screen crawl.
- Audio Message (optional): Preview Text-to-speech or Attach a recorded audio file as your message or listen to the text-to-speech of your current message.
