This article will show you how to set up a poll template.
Important Note
- This is one example of many options. There can be many customizations that may look different.
Instructions
- Sign in to your site
- Navigate to Alerting/Poll Templates
- Click the plus sign
- Fill out the Template Name and Folder
- Select Poll under Form Type
- (Optional) Toggle Modify Template Form
- Adjust Build Template options, as needed
Note: Templates can be built out like a Custom Form. Custom Forms can be assigned as the default forms and accessed by specific Roles. - Template: The template being used
- Sender: Who sends the poll
- Recipients: Groups or individual users who will receive the poll
- Subject: Subject of the alert
- Poll Question: The questions in the poll
- Poll Options: The selections a user can make in the poll
- Delivery Method: What method will be used to send the poll
- Priority: Priority of the poll
- Attachments: Ability to add attachments to the poll
- Hide Attachments: Ability to hide attachments
- Adjust Build Template options, as needed
- Fill out Alert Sender Information
- Select internal and/or public Recipients (required)
- Fill out Poll fields
- Subject: This is the subject of the poll
- Poll Question: Enter the Poll question to be asked
- Poll Responses: Enter the options users have to respond to the poll. There is a minimum of 2 poll responses and a maximum of 5 poll responses.
- Add Response Option: Click to add more response options
- Adjust the Delivery Method as needed
- Mobile App: The CivicReady Mobile app (internal users)
- myAlerts App: The MyAlerts app (public users)
- Email: Send to an email address
- Text Message: Send using a text/SMS message
- Voice: Send using a voice call
- Review and click Save or Save As

1. Is it possible to create a poll and inadvertently screw up the order of the Questions - if so how and what's the method to correct it? When sending a poll, which method gets recorded firs? It appears that if a Phone call to a voice line is made as part of the Poll, that this will supersede the others because it is dialed almost as soon as the Poll is released. Once dialed the system waits for a response and will then record its response as the first and only one.
