This article walks through how residents can sign up for alerts from their local government. They can also download the myAlerts mobile app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Residents can also Text-to-Join a Group.

Existing Experience Important Notes
- The form depicted in this article is the most basic version; it is customizable for customers. What you see on your community public sign-up form may vary.
- For the weather alerts selected, you will receive advanced notification of weather events with targeted alerts to your email and/or SMS-enabled phone if your location is included in the designated area.
Existing Experience Instructions
- Navigate to your community public sign-up form
Note: The URLs for community public sign-up forms are unique to each municipality. Follow the directions in the Find Your Public Sign-Up Form URL article to find your unique public sign-up URL. - Click the green rectangular Sign Up button within the Sign up for Notifications section
- Fill out the Sign-Up form
- First Name (required): Subscriber's first name
- Last Name (required): Subscriber's last name
- Email Address (required): Subscriber's email address
- Cell Phone (required): Subscriber's main cell phone number
- Cell Phone 2/Pager: Subscriber's secondary cell phone number or pager number if applicable
- Home Phone: Subscriber's home phone number if applicable
- Work Phone: Subscriber's work phone number if applicable

Current location (required): Subscriber's general location or chosen location
Note: A location must be selected in order to continue.
- Select the preferred written and spoken languages
Note: See the Language Translations article for the fill lists of available written and spoken languages. - Select the desired alerts
Note: For those weather alerts selected you will receive advanced notification of weather events with targeted alerts to your email and/or SMS-enabled phone if your location is included in the designated area. - Read the Terms of Use
- Click the I agree to the terms of use and I'm not a robot checkboxes
- Click the green rectangular Sign Me Up button below the "I'm not a robot" box
- You will see a "You have successfully signed up for notifications" message
- Respond to the text or email sent to you to confirm your subscription and activate your profile
New Sign-Up Experience
Mass Notification now uses our CivicPlus Portal for a more streamlined resident sign-up experience.
New Experience Important Notes
- The Alerts & Notifications tab is currently in beta and has not been released to all customers. If you are interested in using the new sign-up page, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
- When subscribing to Weather voice alerts for your home or cell phone, you will only receive a call for the alert you have subscribed to if it is a "Warning" status or severe weather. All other Weather Alerts will be provided using SMS (text message)/Email.
New Experience Instructions
- Go to your organization's Portal page
- Select the Alerts & Notifications tab
- Select the Alerts or Weather Alerts tab
- If needed, use the Search bar to search for a subscription list
- Use the toggle next to a list to subscribe to alertsNote: You can also select the Subscribe to All button to receive notifications for all alerts.
- The first time you subscribe to a list you will be prompted to complete your profile. Fill out the Phone Number fields:
- Mobile and Voice Alerts: Select an existing number or add a new one. The first Cell Phone number field is required to receive weather alerts. This number must support text messages.
- Voice Alerts: Select an existing number or add a new one. The Home Phone field is required to receive weather alert calls.
- Click Next
- Click Send Verification Code to verify the cell phone number you provided
- Enter the One Time Password that was sent to your phone and click Verify Code
- Click Next once the phone number is verified
- Click Add New Address to enter a location
- Fill out the address fieldsNote: If you prefer to not provide your specific address, you can provide your general location. City, State, and Zip Code are required to receive Notifications.
- Address Label: Edit the default label to describe the address, such as "Home Address"
- Country: Type and select the applicable country
- Search Google Maps: Type and select an address to search Google Maps and auto-populate the remaining fields
- Address: Add the address for your location
- City, State, Zip: You will need to enter your city, state, and zip code
- Shipping Address is the same: Check the box if the address you entered is the same as your shipping address
- Click Save Changes
- Click Next
- Select your preferred Language(s) and click Next
- Review your information
- Click Save and CompleteNote: The profile information will automatically be used when you subscribe to alerts in the future. You can click Manage Contact Information to update, as needed.
- A green confirmation bar will appear in the bottom right corner when you have successfully subscribed to a list
