This article will show you how to set up your credentials to access IPAWS, FEMA's Integrated Public Alert and Warning System. You can also follow these instructions to reset your password if you have forgotten it.
Instructions
- Navigate to the IPAWS website if you have not already
Note: You can navigate to the IPAWS website using the website URL, or you can log into the Mass Notification system (formerly CivicReady) and click the Public Communication and Send IPAWS Alert options on the left-hand menu of the dashboard. If you do not see the Send IPAWS Alert option, you may not have permission to send alerts.
- Select the Forgot Password? link below the Log In button on the login screen
Note: If you have been able to log in previously and are now getting a message that your login failed, you may be locked out. This occurs at 3 failed login attempts. Follow this same process in that instance. - Enter your email address in the Email Address field on the Password Recovery screen
- Check the I'm not a robot checkbox and follow the prompts if necessary
- Click the Send Request button below the reCaptcha field
- A Password email will be sent to the email address entered in Step 3 if you have been granted access
- Follow the email instructions to set or reset your password, then return to the login screen and log in
