Overview
Within the CivicReady system, you are able to send text notifications and receive responses which allow for two-way communication.
The responses can direct to the sender of the message, all administrators, or members of the group. Once you receive a reply the response will include the phone number of the person responding and the notification they want to respond to. This data is available on the Text/SMS reporting page.
You can enable Two-Way Texting on a group by group basis. Follow the instructions below to learn how.
Instructions
- Navigate to Groups
- Select your desired group
- Click Settings
- Scroll down and expand Text Settings
- Configure settings
- Keyword: Enter a keyword so that if a user texts in that keyword, they will join the group
- Join Response Message: Add a message for users who join the group
- Post Update: Enable the ability to send Post updates as an SMS/text message
- Reply will be sent as email:
- Sender: Only the sender
- Admins of this group: Only administrators
- All members of this group: All members in the group
- Reply will be sent as text:
- Sender: Only the sender
- Admins of this group: Only administrators
- All members of this group: All members in the group
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save
