If you would like to get involved and learn more about how [organization] addresses a variety of issues on campus, we currently have a number of opportunities for staff members to serve on faculty committees.

Need for feedback for [organization] portal development:
Good afternoon colleagues,
Would you like to give direct input on a large campus-wide system that will have a big impact on many people’s day-to-day work? Sign up for a focus group or user interview looking at development of the [organization] portal. The [organization] portal for staff will bring together many different functions—sort of a turbocharged [organizationDirect]. It’ll pull together content from applications like Workday, [organization]Learn, and ServiceNow, and a wide variety of other sources.
Three upcoming focus group sessions are scheduled currently, with more to be scheduled in the coming weeks. If you or your co-workers would like to participate in a user interview or a focus group, please e-mail [organizer] for scheduling. The current sessions are listed below, with more to come:
- Session 1 -- When: Friday, July 29th @ 3PM; Where: MAI 220A; Length: 1 hour
- Session 2 -- When: Thursday, August 4th @ 3PM; Where: MAI 220A; Length: 1 hour

[Organization]: Board input & assistance with great, inspirational speaker for Sept requested.
We had a good meeting of the core interest group for bringing [organization] to Austin, on Weds.
We're planning to concentrate on a major "kickoff event" of the kind we've discussed, in Sept, with one smaller-scale, "momentum building" social event between now and then, and, as planning for the kick-off firms up, a couple of solid events for the succeeding months that build on what we expect will be great momentum.
Since this kick-off event is crucial to establishing sufficient scale in Austin for [organization], we're really counting on the board to identify a real draw-card speaker for the event, and to help bring her or him to Austin. We'll then take care of additional, local, people, logistics, etc., etc. We don't yet have an exact date fixed, because we'd like to be flexible enough to accommodate the speaker who will put the most momentum behind [organization] in Austin.
We'll have our next local arrangements meeting on the 26th of this month, so it would be great to have a clear idea of who will be available by then.
